Terms of use
This is a courtesy translation. The German version (Nutzungsbedingungen) is the legally binding one.
These terms apply to the game LYAA World in the browser (https://lyaa.ai/world) and in the apps for iPhone and Android.
1. Provider
The provider is Kassra Taheri, Taheri Create, Hermann-Stehr-Straße 9, 48356 Nordwalde, Germany, e-mail: info@lyaa.ai ("we"). Further details are in the imprint.
2. What LYAA World is
LYAA World is a free online game. You live with your character in a village you share with other players and with neighbour characters. The village carries on even when you are not playing. Browser and app share the same account and villages.
The game is free. There are no purchases, no subscriptions and no ads. Should there ever be paid content, only new terms you agree to first will apply to it (no. 16).
3. Minimum age and parents
- The game is for ages 13 and up. It is not directed at children under 13.
- At sign-up we ask for your year of birth. Anyone who might be under 13 cannot sign up.
- If you might be under 16, a parent's or legal guardian's consent is needed. A parent confirms it in the game after a short explanation of what the game does.
- Asking Lyaa your own questions (see no. 7) is only possible from 16.
4. Your account
- To play you need an account with a username and password.
- Keep your password secret. What happens with your account counts as yours until you tell us that someone else is using it.
- An account is personal. You may not sell it, give it away or pass it on.
- Do not share your account, not even with friends or siblings. Everyone plays with their own account.
- Give true details when you sign up, especially your age.
5. Names and content you create
- Names: your character's and village's names are visible to others. Please do not use your full real name. Names must not insult, threaten or discriminate against anyone, must not be sexual or glorify violence, and must not pretend to be another person or us. We may change unsuitable names.
- Your content: what you create in the game, such as island drafts, furnishings and looks, remains yours. You allow us to store it in the game and show it to the other players in your village for as long as your account exists. Vote results and accepted island drafts stay part of the village.
6. Playing fair
It is not allowed to:
- play the game with modified apps, bots, scripts or other programs, or to query the server automatically;
- exploit bugs in the game instead of reporting them to us;
- create several accounts to influence votes, elections or village life;
- harass, insult or exclude other players with names, gestures or in any other way;
- attack the game's security or use other people's accounts.
It is also not allowed to:
- buy, sell or trade coins, tickets, items or accounts outside the game, for example for real money, vouchers or items from other games;
- use friend codes, stands, gifts or visits to pressure or take advantage of others, or to beg for things;
- get round the game's rules and limits with tricks, for example with second accounts that give each other gifts or buy from each other.
The best way to report a bug is to tell Lyaa or write to info@lyaa.ai.
7. Lyaa, the helper, and AI in the game
- Every village has Lyaa. She explains the game. Her fixed explanations are there for everyone.
- Your own questions: from 16 and with your consent you can ask Lyaa up to three questions of your own per day. The answers are written by the AI Claude from Anthropic (USA). Lyaa is the only place in the game where you can send text you wrote yourself.
- No personal details: do not put personal details into your questions, such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses or passwords, not even other people's.
- No misuse: do not try to get Lyaa to produce forbidden content, get round her rules or read out her internal instructions. Do not send her anything insulting or unlawful.
- AI can be wrong: Lyaa's answers are help with the game. They can be wrong or incomplete and are not advice, for example legal, medical or financial. Lyaa cannot give or change anything in the game.
- Neighbour conversations, the village's day plan and parts of the village paper are also written with AI. If the AI cannot be reached, the game uses pre-written texts.
- How we handle data here is explained in the privacy policy.
8. Coins, tickets and items
- Coins, tickets, items, houses, pets and everything else in the game are virtual. They have no money value, and you cannot buy, sell or exchange them for money.
- You can only use them in the game. They belong to your account and end with it.
- We may develop the game further, including prices, rewards and rules in the game. If bugs or unfair play led to items or coins, we may reset them.
8a. Friends from real life
- You can become friends in the game with people you know. For this there is a friend code (also as a QR code). Only give it to people you really know. It is not possible to search for names.
- A friendship only starts once the other person confirms it. You can decline a request, end a friendship at any time and block someone. Someone you have blocked can no longer send you requests, messages or gifts, or visit you.
- Friends can only send each other set phrases and pictures, no text of their own.
- There are limits, for example on how many friends, open requests and unread messages are possible.
8b. Visits
- You can visit friends in their village if you have both allowed visits. A visit lasts at most one hour; only a few guests fit into a village at the same time.
- As a guest you can look around, talk, play, fish and collect a few finds. Things that concern the village itself, such as votes, the village treasury or building, are only possible in your own village.
- You can send anyone visiting you home at any time. That guest can then only come back with a new invitation from you, which is valid for the same day only.
- The "Allow visits" switch in the settings turns visits off completely, also for parents.
8c. Stands, trading and gifts
- You can sell things you own at a stand in front of your house. You choose the price yourself, but only within a fixed range around a fair price set by the game. There are limits on how much can be bought and spent per day.
- When players buy from each other, the coins go only from the buyer to the seller. Neighbour characters sometimes buy too.
- You can give things to neighbour characters and to players, but to players only if you are friends or live in the same village. Coins cannot be given. There are daily limits for gifts.
- Once something is sold or given, it belongs to the other person. There is no right to get it back; in case of bugs or cheating we may reset things (no. 8).
- Trading and giving only happen in the game and only with things from the game (nos. 6 and 8).
8d. Learning in the game
- Lyaa, neighbours and the workshops sometimes ask you questions or tell you something ("Did you know?"). The questions match your age band, which we work out from your year of birth.
- This is meant to be fun and is not school: there are no grades, no tests and no penalty for wrong answers. Right answers earn a few coins up to a daily limit, and badges.
- We check the questions carefully. If you still find a mistake, write to info@lyaa.ai.
8d2. The village paper and newspaper makers
- Every morning the village paper comes out with at most 10 stories. The game writes them from fixed building blocks; nobody can put their own text in.
- Players with the trade newspaper maker choose up to 5 of the day's stories. With several newspaper makers, most votes decide. The newspaper makers of an issue are named in the imprint.
- If you do not want to be mentioned in the paper, switch it off in the settings. Then your name appears neither in stories nor in the imprint.
- Use the choice fairly: do not pick stories to embarrass anybody.
8d3. Art studio and pictures on the house wall
- Everybody who comes into your house sees the pictures you hang there. Only hang pictures that are friendly to everyone: nothing rude, no violence, no forbidden signs, nothing mean about others.
- Pictures on the wall show no writing and no numbers – so no phone numbers, names from apps or other contact details either. An AI checks free pictures before they go up; a refused picture stays in your portfolio.
- If you see an unsuitable picture, tap it and choose "Report". It is then hidden until we have checked it. If we take down three of your pictures after reports, you can no longer hang free pictures.
8e. Reporting problems, parents
- If someone bothers you, you can block them and end the friendship. You can send visitors home.
- If another player is mean, begs, has an unsuitable name or wants to swap things for real money, tap them and choose "🚩 Report" – you can block them there too. Write to info@lyaa.ai about bugs and anything else. We look at every report.
- Only report what really happened. Reporting others falsely on purpose breaches these terms.
- If these terms are breached, we choose a suitable measure, from a warning, resetting things gained unfairly and restrictions (for example no more friends, visits, stands or gifts) up to suspending or deleting the account (no. 13).
- For parents: for players aged 13 to 15 a parent has agreed to the use (no. 3). Please accompany your child while playing, talk with them about who they give their friend code to, and use the "Allow visits" switch if needed. We are happy to answer questions at info@lyaa.ai.
9. Mayor, votes and the island
- The residents of a village elect a mayor every week. The mayor can move buildings and submit drafts for the island.
- All residents vote on an island draft. With a majority it is carried out at a fixed time; houses and places then move to their new spots. This can include your house. The move is paid from the village treasury.
- Results of elections and votes apply in the game. In case of technical errors or misuse we may reverse or repeat them.
10. Rights in the game
The game, its name, texts, characters, graphics, music and software are protected. Part of the graphics comes from licensed art packs whose licence forbids passing them on. You may only use the game as intended: to play, privately and not commercially. You may not copy it, extract or pass on graphics or files from it, modify it, rebuild it or reverse-engineer it, unless the law expressly allows it. Screenshots, videos and streams of the game are allowed, also on public platforms, as long as you name LYAA World.
11. Availability and changes to the game
- We try to keep the game running well. There is no entitlement, however, to it being available at all times or free of errors, also because of maintenance or outages.
- We develop the game further and may change, add or remove features where this is reasonable for you.
- We may discontinue the game entirely. We will announce this in the game at least 4 weeks in advance, unless an important reason requires ending it sooner.
12. Liability
The game is free. We are therefore only liable for intent and gross negligence (as for a gift, §§ 521, 599 BGB). This does not affect our liability where the law makes it mandatory:
- for injury to life, body or health;
- under the Product Liability Act;
- if we fraudulently conceal a defect or have given a guarantee.
For the loss of coins, items or game progress we are only liable under these rules.
13. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in the settings. We then delete it together with your character and game progress; the village stays for its other residents.
- Inactive accounts: if you have not signed in for 24 months, we delete your account. You get a notification a month before, if you allowed notifications. Signing in during that time keeps your account.
- We may end the contract with 4 weeks' notice. If you seriously breach these terms, or repeatedly despite a warning, we may suspend your account temporarily or delete it straight away. We choose the mildest suitable measure, such as a warning first or resetting things gained unfairly, and take your legitimate interests into account.
14. Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you have a right of withdrawal.
Withdrawal notice
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded, that is, from your sign-up.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Kassra Taheri, Taheri Create, Hermann-Stehr-Straße 9, 48356 Nordwalde, Germany, e-mail: info@lyaa.ai) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement (e.g. an e-mail). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal: if you withdraw from this contract, we delete your account with your character and game progress as in no. 13. There are no payments, so nothing has to be refunded.
Regardless of this, you can delete your account yourself at any time in the settings (no. 13).
Model withdrawal form (complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.)
- To Kassra Taheri, Taheri Create, Hermann-Stehr-Straße 9, 48356 Nordwalde, Germany, info@lyaa.ai:

- Contract concluded on (*) / username
- Name of consumer(s)

15. Apps from the App Store and Google Play
If you download the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies to the app. If you download it from Google Play, the Google Play terms apply as well. These terms of use apply to the game itself; only we are your contractual partner for the game, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the game, its maintenance or its support.
16. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we show you the new version in the game. It only applies to you once you agree to it. If you do not agree, you can delete your account; we may then end the contract with the notice in no. 13.
17. Law, language and dispute resolution
- German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of your country of residence.
- The German version is binding; the English one is a translation.
- We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
- If individual provisions are invalid, the rest remain valid.
